Hi everyone! This week, I am starting my thriller book series. I am going to give a few titles within each post containing some of my top thriller reads. So sit back, read on, and enjoy!
The first book I want to share is, The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison. This story takes place in a garden filled with "butterflies." These butterflies are women who were kidnapped and tattooed with butterfly wings on their backs and preserved forever by their captor, the Gardener. Once the garden is discovered for its true dark meaning, a girl who lived in the garden, Maya, is interviewed and seems to be holding secrets of her own. As her story comes out, FBI agents Victor Hanoverian and Brandon Eddison unravel one of their darkest cases yet. This story holds many turns and has a great ending. I have recommended this book to so many friends and they all have loved it. 10/10 from me.
Next book on the list is, The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. This story begins with a couple named Anne and Marco who had a beautiful baby girl named Cora. One night, the couple attends a dinner party next door with their friends while Cora slept. Anne and Marco take turns checking on Cora until they came home for the night and she was suddenly gone. Of course, the parents are the immediate suspects; however, the truth isn't that simple. Both spouses have been keeping secrets and soon, all of them will unravel. This book kept me turning page after page to see the truth. Super easy read, and incredibly enticing.
Last on this weeks series is, Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewel. The story begins with a girl named Ellie Mack, a young girl with a great life and just days away from ending her exams and heading into summer vacation. But one day, Ellie was simply gone. Her mother, Laurel, who has seemed to have fallen apart now ten years after her daughters disappearance, now tries to mend her life. One day, Laurel meets a wonderful man named Floyd, and their simple flirtation turns into a relationship. As their relationship deepens, Laurel meets Floyd's daughter Poppy, who bears an all too close resemblance to her now gone daughter, Ellie. This drives Laurel into a frenzy of learning what happened to her daughter and finding out the true dark secrets of her disappearance. I really enjoyed this book and again, kept me wanting more. I also discovered this book is on sale at Target recently for anyone interested in reading it.
That is all for this weeks series. Stay tuned for more titles in the near future.
